Enables the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority to upgrade the hospital's Emergency Room climate control system, which supports the health and readiness of the warfighter and their families who rely on the hospital for emergency medical services, ensuring the 8,705 permanently stationed military personnel are focused on the defense of our nation and supporting our national security. Enables Colorado Springs Utilities to remove overhead power lines between two substations at the U.S. Air Force Academy and replace them with underground 34.5 kV lines, improving the reliability of electrical and water systems, eliminating a major source of spark-ignition to mitigate wildfire risks, and eliminating the risk of damage and power outages during high winds and snowstorms. The project ensures the protection of critical infrastructure and mission readiness of the 21,208 military personnel and their families on the installation. Fiscal Year 2024 Award

Enables the City of Colorado Springs to construct roadway improvements at North Gate to prevent unauthorized incursions onto the installation, improving travel between Peterson Space Force Base and Schriever Space Force Base, and protecting sensitive and high-value assets critical to the defense of our nation and national security. Enables the City of Copperas Cove to construct roadway improvements to alleviate traffic congestion that inhibits both public safety and anti-terrorism force protection capability at the main gate, supporting an installation population of 73,359. The project will facilitate more rapid force deployment and mobilization of materials by diverting operational and commercial traffic away from the main gate, thereby improving mission readiness and support for Southern border operations. Enables the El Paso Water Utilities Public Service Board to replace the McCombs Wells water collector line which provides 100 percent of the McGregor Range water supply, ensuring a critical water supply for training exercises, improving readiness and fire suppression, and preparing warfighters to defend our homeland as well as the availability of the range for missile defense system testing, such as for a Golden Dome system. Enables the County of Grand Forks to construct a new fire station to supplement the current fire station and eliminate substandard response times (based on Department of War mandates) to an installation with a population of 2,187. The project ensures adequate fire response times to areas of the base that are integral to current and future mission capabilities (such as the munitions storage facility) as well as operational readiness for joint warfighting, training, and readiness. Enables Oceanside Unified School District to address condition and capacity issues at North Terrace Elementary School at Camp Pendleton as part of the Department of War Public Schools on Military Installations(PSMI) Program. This funding will support the design of a new North Terrace K8 addresses overcapacity issues and expired building systems including roofing, HVAC, fire alarms, and plumbing. This new school benefits 931 military-connected students and provides fully functioning modern facilities that attract high-quality teachers and administrators, which improves the quality of education on site. As a result, these improvements alleviate some of the emotional stress parental deployments place on children and their families, helping military parents stay focused on critical missions. Collectively, these efforts increase the quality of life for the warfighter and their families, which strengthens recruitment and increases retention at Camp Pendleton. Fiscal Year 2024 Award

Enables the North Chicago Community Unit School District 187 to address condition and capacity issues at Forrestal Elementary School at Naval Station Great Lakes as part of the Department of War Public Schools on Military Installations(PSMI) Program. The funding will support the construction of a new school that will directly benefit more than 430 military-connected students and provide fully functioning modern facilities that attract high-quality teachers and administrators, which improves the quality of education on site. As a result, these improvements alleviate some of the emotional stress parental deployments place on children and their families, helping the military parents stay focused on critical missions. Collectively, these efforts increase the quality of life for the warfighter and their families, which strengthens recruitment and increases retention at Naval Station Great Lakes.
