Grissom Air Reserve Base

Enables the Miami County Economic Development Authority to develop an airfield apron rehabilitation plan for the civilian-owned portion of the Grissom Joint-Use Airfield. This project supports continued coordination with Grissom Air Reserve Base and evaluates current conditions of the nearly 200,000 square yards of aircraft pavement and additional assets owned by the authority to strengthen defense diversification efforts. This project also supports the community with an application to join the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems which enables new opportunities to utilize the airfield. Fiscal Year 2024 Award

This supplemental funding supports the original project to enable the Douglas School District to undertake planning and design of new public services and infrastructure in order to properly support the current 1,100 military-connected students and build capacity for an increase of 3,000 service members and their families at Ellsworth Air Force Base--retaining airmen and their families assigned to the installation. The Commonwealth Bureau of Military Affairs enhances the role of the Office of the Governor as the single point of contact for all federal actions associated with Department of War programs; ensures the Commonwealth's equities are represented; enables the Governor and the Commonwealth Government to make informed decisions on behalf of the Commonwealth; enhances communications with the Department of War; enhances community outreach and awareness; and enhances the Office of the Governor and Commonwealth Government's responsiveness and effectiveness to Department of War programs and initiatives. The Department of War initiatives underscore Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Island's strategic, operational, and tactical value to Department of War and to the Nation; especially in regard to the National Defense Strategy, the evolving INDOPACOM Pacific Deterrence Initiative, and the challenging and dynamic geopolitics. Pueblo Chemical Depot

Enabled the Pueblo Depot Activity Development Authority (PDADA) to negotiate and carry out an Economic Development Conveyance agreement with the Army resulting in the transfer of 15,846 surplus acres with improvements and related personal property for the purpose of job creation in July 2024. Further, PDADA continues outreach and community engagement activities necessary to retain the nearly 2,000 jobs impacted by the end of the chemical demilitarization mission. This effort supports removing property from the Army's active base inventory, which will result in cost savings that can be transferred to mission-critical activities. Fiscal Year 2024 Award

Ebbing Air National Guard Base

Enables the City of Fort Smith, in coordination with Ebbing Air National Guard Base and the surrounding metropolitan area, to study installation readiness and land-use compatibility. The new F-35 aircraft operations and associated population growth have placed unexpected demands on aging infrastructure and additional development may encroach on mission operations. The product will include recommendations to support planning and infrastructure actions to ensure long- term mission assurance for the four missions: Remotely Piloted Aircraft (MQ-9 Reaper); Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (Distributed Ground Station-Arkansas); Targeting (Space-Focused); and the new F-35 Foreign Military Sales Pilot Training. This supplemental funding supports the original project to enable the State of Connecticut, through the Connecticut Department of Community and Economic Development, to launch the Scaling Model-Based Definition project to develop technical tools and resources to support the readiness, modernization, and lethality of the state's defense industrial base, representing more than 700 defense suppliers. The supplemental project further enables the readiness and modernization of the defense industrial base by analyzing public infrastructure and services in coordination with Original Equipment Manufacturers, local installations, and the local community.
