This supplemental funding supports the original project to enable the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) to assess and formulate methods to secure, bolster and enhance the Commonwealth's Information Technology infrastructure that supports and ensures Department of War's warfighter presence in the CNMI is not adversely impacted, while also enhancing CNMI's initiatives to support infrastructure and deterrence capabilities to protect the homeland. Enables the City of Box Elder to plan and design community water, wastewater, roadways, and other critical infrastructure projects. The planning and design elements will be used to enhance additional housing and commercial developments to address future needs associated with the deployment of the new B-21 Bomber (training and operational wings) to Ellsworth Air Force Base. The City will also conduct an Installation Readiness review and tabletop exercise of shared vulnerabilities and risks associated with critical resources beyond military installation boundaries that are necessary to support and maintain installation assurance and mission-essential functions. Enables the Miami County Economic Development Authority to develop an airfield apron rehabilitation plan for the civilian-owned portion of the Grissom Joint-Use Airfield. This project supports continued coordination with Grissom Air Reserve Base and evaluates current conditions of the nearly 200,000 square yards of aircraft pavement and additional assets owned by the authority to strengthen defense diversification efforts. This project also supports the community with an application to join the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems which enables new opportunities to utilize the airfield. Fiscal Year 2024 Award

Enables the Local Redevelopment Authority for Roosevelt Roads, as it awaits transfer of ownership of acreage from the U.S. Navy, to sustain redevelopment activities at the former Naval Station Roosevelt Roads. This includes establishing a micro-grid, planning for the redevelopment of the ferry terminal, waterfront district, and port control building, and beginning planning efforts for an aerospace industrial park. Enabled the Pueblo Depot Activity Development Authority (PDADA) to negotiate and carry out an Economic Development Conveyance agreement with the Army resulting in the transfer of 15,846 surplus acres with improvements and related personal property for the purpose of job creation in July 2024. Further, PDADA continues outreach and community engagement activities necessary to retain the nearly 2,000 jobs impacted by the end of the chemical demilitarization mission.
