Enables the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity to deliver a series of cybersecurity focused educational and engagement events with Florida's defense manufacturing sector. Complimenting a curriculum and set of best practices developed through other partnerships, activities will support greater awareness of defense cybersecurity requirements and DoD's new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification published in 2020. GA	Department of Defense	Statewide	$962,126.00
Enables the Georgia Institute of Technology, in partnership with Spelman College and the Technical College System of Georgia, to promote the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies by Georgia manufacturers. The consortium will provide a series of education opportunities that target small defense manufacturers within the local economy. This project stimulates cooperation between statewide and local adjustment and diversification efforts making the industrial base more resilient to fluctuations in defense spending. HI	Department of Defense	Statewide	$1,027,330.00
Enables the State of Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism to carry out recommendations developed during the previous phase to include providing local businesses with access to a learning management system capable of assessing the cybersecurity knowledge and readiness of approximately 500 current and potential DoD contractors in Hawaii; as well as to provide companies the training needed to obtain DoD cybersecurity compliance. This project will also establish a Hawaii Defense Economy Alliance to assess/address defense supply chain and workforce development gaps. This project stimulates cooperation between statewide and local adjustment efforts making the industrial base more resilient to cyber threats and fluctuations in defense spending. Enables the University of Illinois to translate insights from the previous Quad Cities pilot project to other regions within the Illinois Defense Network including Chicago, Rockford, and Peoria. The project will provide a series of educational workshops to achieve compliance with DFARS 252.204-7012/NIST 800-171 cybersecurity requirements and DoD's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification as well as provide technical assistance regarding workforce solutions, supply chain mapping, and managing gaps that impact readiness. Enables the Purdue University Manufacturing Extension Partnership to provide technical assistance to improve the capabilities of at least 36 Indiana small Defense industrial base businesses; increase supply chain awareness; adapt to the requirements of government and industry prime contractors; and identify strategic growth opportunities. This project stimulates cooperation between statewide and local adjustment and diversification efforts making the industrial base more resilient to fluctuations in defense spending. Enables a Wichita State University National Institute for Aviation Research led project to strengthen the national security innovation base by expanding high and ultra-high temperature material characterizations, capabilities, process tools, sustainment planning, workforce, and engineering competencies for the purpose of accelerated weapon system prototype development. The South Kansas Defense Manufacturing Community National Defense Prototype Center consortium will leverage existing regional specializations in aerospace supply chains to create a regional industrial base with stable sources of critical materials, access to test facilities and broad availability to test results, access to proprietary processes for small businesses, robust engineering, technical and trades workforce, and verified design tools and techniques. Enables the University of Massachusetts Lowell to implement workforce development activities that promote industry resilience--based on uncertainties in defense spending--by training "next generation technicians:' in innovation-based companies in various advanced manufacturing technologies. MD	Military Installations in Maryland	Statewide	$979,211.00
Enables the Maryland Department of Commerce to guide compatible development by producing applicable mapping tools; procedures for jurisdiction coordination; a compatible land use guidebook; and a website for making land use decisions. The effort will also assess potential legislation regarding land use that supports long-term sustainability of military operations throughout the state. Fiscal Year 2020 Award
