Enables the Lowcountry Council of Governments to carry out recommendations of a recently completed resilience study in coordination with Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort and Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. The primary goal is to provide scoping and design for the Shell Point Interchange, which serves nearby neighborhoods and is the only land entrance to U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. The interchange also serves as a major U.S. highway and is a critical evacuation and access route for both the Marine installation and the community. The pilot project will address issues that directly impact installation access. Fiscal Year 2023 Award

Enables Crook County to create an overlay zone with criteria and DoD notification requirements for relevant energy development applications as required by Oregon law. The criteria and overlay zone map will be adopted into official Crook County plans. The goal of the proposed project is to codify criteria and triggers for Crook County pre-application coordination with the DoD on projects that represent potential encroachment into the military airspace. Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station

Enables the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority to analyze encroachment and resilience concerns for the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station (NFARS) and to develop a plan to address those concerns. Encroachment concerns are related to urban development, transportation and wildlife. Resilience concerns generally relate to flooding and utilities. The goal of the plan is to support the long-term readiness and sustainability of NFARS and the surrounding community. Fiscal Year 2023 Award

Marine Corps Air Station New River

This supplemental funding supports the original grant effort to enable the City of Jacksonville to carry out a recommendation from the initial Joint Land Use Study to conduct a feasibility study to relocate Douglass Gate at Marine Corps Air Station New River. The relocation would improve installation readiness by eliminating current congestion and safety concerns along US Highway 17. Feasibility study results will inform the submission of a project in the future North Carolina Department of Transportation prioritization cycle. Fiscal Year 2023 Award

This includes professional services to assist in partitioning 4,019 acres to the Confederated Tribes of Umatilla Indian Reservation and master planning for the remaining 5,492 acres. Enables the Horsham Land Redevelopment Authority, as it awaits transfer of ownership of acreage from the U.S. Navy, to manage redevelopment activities at the former Willow Grove Naval Air Station. These activities include preparation of a phased economic development conveyance application, a topographic survey of certain parcels located at the former base, and a conceptual design of roadway extensions which are part of the Redevelopment Plan for roadway and infrastructure improvements. These activities include establishing a renewable energy micro-grid; planning for the redevelopment of the ferry terminal, waterfront district, and port control building; and initiating planning efforts for an aerospace industrial park.
