Public Schools on Military Installations

Enables the Altus Public Schools to complete the design of a new elementary school to replace #55 Mendel Rivers Elementary School (353 students) in order to address condition and capacity deficiencies. Jackson County has experienced 37 tornadoes since 1980, one of which directly hit Altus Air Force Base. The full gymnasium within Rivers Elementary School will provide the entire school population a FEMA approved safe space in the event of future tornadoes. The school serves students who are children of military, civilian, and contractors who work Altus Air Force Base. Fiscal Year 2023 Award

Enables the Port of Alaska to replace aged stormwater management infrastructure, alleviating flooding and soil erosion issues that impact mission readiness and execution both on JB Elmendorf-Richardson and at the Port of Alaska, a strategic commercial port utilized extensively by the installation. Sierra Army Depot

Enables the Northern California Power Agency and its sub-recipient, Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative (Plumas-Sierra) to construct a new 14.7-mile, 69-kilovolt electric transmission line and to upgrade substations to connect to the NV Energy grid in Nevada, providing a secondary and more reliable source of power to the Depot and the 8,100 landowners in the Plumas-Sierra electrical service area. The secondary electrical transmission connection will feed Plumas-Sierra's entire system and increase the grid capacity for all customers. This project will improve installation readiness and eliminate the Depot's current single point of failure by providing additional locations for power to enter the base. Fiscal Year 2023 Award

Enables a University of Missouri led project to create a pipeline of engineers and tradespeople skilled in the usage of modern digital advanced manufacturing technologies. Enables the City of San Antonio to reconstruct the Ackerman Road improvement at the Texas Army National Guard's Martindale Army Heliport Project (MAHP) from the IH-10 Frontage Road to the MAHP entrance gate. This project will enhance the installation readiness of MAHP by reducing the flooding that adversely impacts installation operations by ensuring safe and efficient access.
