Constructs an indoor recreation facility including a field house, community center, and childcare facility. The project enables the Ellsworth Air Force Base Pride Hangar, currently used for recreation, to begin being repurposed as an aircraft maintenance facility by 2022. Fiscal Year 2020 Award

Provides a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) classroom and laboratory that does not currently exist at Dyess Elementary School. The Alabama Defense Advanced Manufacturing Community, formed by the University of Alabama in Huntsville, is a 22-county region concentrated with defense manufacturers, workforce development resources, research and development facilities, and academia. The goal is to develop a future workforce capable of implementing technologies that accelerate the modernization of advanced manufacturing technologies associated with missiles and ground vehicle systems. The California Advanced Defense Ecosystem National Consortia Effort, a consortium comprised of community, industry, state agencies, educational institutions, and DoD Manufacturing Institute NextFlex will strengthen the resiliency of the national security innovation and manufacturing base through a series of 15 projects. The organization works with defense manufacturers in the area of microelectronics, space, and 5G; offers support and training to small manufacturers. Fiscal Year 2020 Award

The State of Connecticut convened the Connecticut Defense Manufacturing Community Consortium, a group of Connecticut-based defense manufacturing stakeholders, to catalyze the digital transformation of Connecticut defense manufacturing companies. The project will bring Model Based Definition technology to all defense prime vertical supply chains in an effort to transform the supply chain from a 2-dimensional design and manufacturing platform to a 3-dimensional platform. The Ohio Defense Manufacturing Community offers Industry 4.0 manufacturing technical assistance and workforce training for small- and mid-sized defense manufacturers, particularly those in aerospace and ground vehicle sectors. The consortium delivers targeted activities to manufacturers, particularly additive manufacturing for rapid prototyping and robotics, for more efficient production. The Artificial Intelligence in Materials and Manufacturing (AIM) Higher consortium will enhance defense manufacturing capabilities through an industrial production ecosystem that melds advanced materials with artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, and robotics. Through a collaboration with two DoD Manufacturing Institutes, university partners, and workforce organizations, AIM Higher will coordinate activities to upskill the workforce, familiarize manufacturers with new technologies, and spur innovation.
