Our Projects

Enables the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, on behalf of all Texas military installations, to complete a study that promotes compatible land uses, drafts state wind-related legislation, and reviews existing threatened and endangered species candidate listings. Information derived from the effort will be included in a web tool designed to facilitate early communication between industry, community, and military planners. Fiscal Year 2020 Award

Enables the Mountainland Association of Governments, in partnership with the Cities of Lehi, Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, Herriman, Bluffdale, as well as Salt Lake County, Utah County, the Utah Department of Transportation, and the Department of Natural Resources to conduct a compatible use study to identify potential modifications to zoning that will result in compatible land uses to ensure the long-term viability of Camp Williams. Enables the Commonwealth of Virginia to protect critical state-wide military training routes and ranges by providing energy developers a way to examine project viability and interact with military commands potentially impacted by a project well in advance. This project is intended to provide private companies with the information to inform their decision making before incurring the large expenses associated with land acquisition, permitting, and planning. Enables the City of Bremerton to prepare a Joint Compatibility Transportation Plan to address development, traffic congestion, and parking issues associated with accessing Naval Base Kitsap. Fiscal Year 2020 Award

Enables the City of Ridgecrest to complete a resilience study that analyzes energy and water vulnerabilities; transportation limitations; aging infrastructure; extreme weather; and a chronically overdrawn water table with the goal to create an action plan involving surrounding localities that support the continued mission readiness of Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. Fiscal Year 2020 Award

Enables the San Diego Association of Governments to assist the Central Mobility Hub with a regional data sharing framework study focusing on collaboration between local jurisdictions and Naval Bases San Diego, Coronado, and Point Loma. Assesses vulnerabilities such as wildfires and transportation systems to include potential impacts on mission readiness and mitigation strategies to address these vulnerabilities. Enables Barnstable County to conduct a study to investigate utility infrastructure challenges including water, wastewater, and energy as well as associated weather vulnerabilities with the goal to identify recommendations for addressing long standing capital improvement and operating cost concerns with installation owned services on Joint Base Cape Cod. Fiscal Year 2020 Award

Enables the City of Annapolis to conduct a resilience study and develop strategies for responding to extreme weather events such as storm surge and flooding that impact the military mission on Naval Support Activity Annapolis and the local infrastructure that supports the Academy. Fiscal Year 2020 Award

Enables Montgomery County to conduct a resiliency study focusing on the impacts of flooding, caused by extreme storm events, to operations on Naval Support Activity Bethesda with a goal to develop mitigation strategies for community storm water management, transportation, the power grid, and emergency response. Fiscal Year 2020 Award

Enables the Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development to conduct a comprehensive resiliency study of vulnerabilities involving natural gas, shared electric service, water resources, and distribution networks with impacts to military operations on the Detroit Arsenal and the surrounding area that supports operations at the Arsenal.
