Enables the City of Abilene to implement prioritized recommendations from a recent compatible use study involving Dyess Air Force Base. The project focuses on zoning ordinances specific to accident potential zones; establishing a GIS database for use by all local governments; and developing outreach and educational materials related to height restrictions, noise contours, and potential impacts by wildlife. Enables the North Central Texas Council of Governments to promote local planning and encroachment protection for the benefit of Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Dallas Army Aviation Support Facility, Fort Wolters, Camp Maxey, and the Eagle Mountain Training Center. The implementation effort focuses on the top priorities from the previous study to include addressing sound attenuation concerns; designating secure air space for unmanned aircraft systems; and providing relief of traffic congestion for base access.
